A cold stormy night conjures up a terrifying nightmare for Bodhi. Is it just a dream or a premonition of something terrible coming his way?
Max Devon is living a happy peaceful life with his wife and daughter. One day his past comes knocking on his door and his whole world is threatened by this harbinger of death. Will he be able to protect his family in time? Will he be able to escape his cursed past?
After quite a few months of sabbatical, I took to photomanip once again. It’s a great way to de-stress and freshen up over the weekend.
My latest digital artwork is my interpretation of the final battle in the book ‘Deception Dance‘ by Rita Stradling. I really loved the book and when I read through the second book (an ARC) this vision kept going in my head, and so you have The Final Battle. I share this here with you. Hope you all like it as much as I enjoyed making it. 🙂
And here’s my review of Lie Spinners the latest work by Rita Stradling :
I loved the first book-‘Demon Dance’ and was looking forward to the second book. I am glad to say that it is so much more than what I was expecting.
Rita Stradling creates an intense plot that is edgy, thrilling and has many OMG moments. There is a whole new world of demons and demon hunters-a world of deceit, treachery, and cold-blooded politics; where everyone has a hidden agenda and will do anything to achieve it.
The story is exciting, more gripping and fast-paced as compared to the first book, and I was disappointed when it ended. Characters mature so does the author. Many new characters are introduced in this book, and there are surprises at every turn of the page.
A bit of editing may still be required, along with a thorough once over. Couple of spelling and grammar mistakes were visible, but these are minor hiccups, easily reparable.
To sum-up-the book is a good read, and I would recommend it to everyone. Rita has done a good job and is definitely an author to watch out for.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
My book – Missing Mandy – celebrated its first year of publication this January. The entire journey, from the first idea to its present form has been such an awesome learning experience and I would like to thank all my ‘virtual’ friends for their support, sound advice and encouragement in making it such an exciting one.
Two years back, I had a story to tell and my mom encouraged me to write it down and share it with others. I started scribbling it in March, 2011 and had completed it by May, 2011. I realized that there were too many problems in it and I spent the rest of the year, rewriting major sections and smoothing out the sharp edges. When I published it in Jan 2012, it was in a better form than the original version. Reviews came in and I found that it was badly edited and the cover was not creating the buzz that I had wanted. There was still a lot of work to be done. I promised myself that I would edit the book and create a better, more professional cover.
I know it’s been long overdue, but I am happy to say that I have successfully edited Missing Mandy and would like to present to you the new book cover–
The making of this cover was like a big project for me–getting the right images, refining the main concept and learning the technical know-how of creating a good book-cover. There are so many people out there, who have been instrumental in making this possible for me – from stock providers to those who shared tutorials on digital art. A heartfelt thanks to all of them and a big hug goes out to all the stock providers on deviantart.com for the wonderful images and textures. Without their stocks, the cover would not have been possible. Lots of love to–
Go visit their galleries! You will find some amazing stuff there.
A special thanks to our very own Mel, for her support and guidance in creating this book cover. Without her, I would have been still struggling with it. So, thank you so much, Mel. 🙂
Missing Mandy has been revamped, though I must admit there are no new chapters in the book, no major changes in the events and it is still a short story. You might still find scope of changing so much in it, if you look at it without any emotional baggage (that I have). I might go back to it after a couple of years and think over it, but for now I like it the way it is and I believe that people should read it the way I had initially intended.
So go check out Missing Mandy!!! Maybe download a sample or buy the entire book. Read it. If you like it, gift it to your friends or family. And, come back and tell me about it. Would love to hear what you think.
My deviation – ‘The Other World‘ was declared one of the winners of the Halloween Contest hosted by Selunia on Deviantart.com.
We were supposed to create a deviation using any three of the stocks provided by her. I used her pics of a cat (tiny thing in the center of the vortex), the setting sun sky and the buildings along with pics provided by others. Thanks to all the stock providers for some wonderful pictures. Credit details are given here.
Some new creations are also there in my gallery. You can click hereto see them.
